Online Extrinsic Calibration Based on Per-Sensor Ego-Motion Using Dual Quaternions

چکیده

In this work, we propose an approach for extrinsic sensor calibration from per-sensor ego-motion estimates. Our problem formulation is based on dual quaternions, enabling two different online capable solving approaches. We provide a certifiable globally optimal and fast local along with method to verify the globality of approach. Additionally, means integrating previous knowledge, example, common ground plane planar motion, are described. algorithms evaluated simulated data publicly available dataset containing RGB-D camera images. Further, our tested KITTI odometry dataset, which provides lidar stereo systems mounted vehicle. evaluation confirms short run time, state-of-the-art accuracy, as well capability while retaining global optimality solution at any time.

Extrinsic Calibration from Per-Sensor Egomotion

We show how to recover the 6-DOF transform between two sensors mounted rigidly on a moving body, a form of extrinsic calibration useful for data fusion. Our algorithm takes noisy, per-sensor incremental egomotion observations (i.e., incremental poses) as input and produces as output an estimate of the maximum-likelihood 6-DOF calibration relating the sensors and accompanying uncertainty. The 6-...

Hand-Eye Calibration Using Dual Quaternions

To relate measurements made by a sensor mounted on a mechanical link to the robot’s coordinate frame, we must first estimate the transformation between these two frames. Many algorithms have been proposed for this so-called hand-eye calibration, but they do not treat the relative position and orientation in a unified way. In this paper, we introduce the use of dual quaternions, which are the al...

Extrinsic and Intrinsic Sensor Calibration

Sensor Calibration is the process of determining the intrinsic (e.g., focal length) and extrinsic (i.e., position and orientation (pose) with respect to the world, or to another sensor) parameters of a sensor. This task is an essential prerequisite for many applications in robotics, computer vision, and augmented reality. For example, in the field of robotics, in order to fuse measurements from...

dual split quaternions and screw motion in minkowski 3-space

in this paper, two new hamilton operators are defined and the algebra of dual split quaternions isdeveloped using these operators. it is shown that finite screw motions in minkowski 3-space can be expressedby dual-number ( 3×3 ) matrices in dual lorentzian space. moreover, by means of hamilton operators, screwmotion is obtained in 3-dimensional minkowski space 3r1

Extrinsic Calibration of a Vision Mounted Sensor on a Robot

A vision sensor is mounted on a robot to detect surrounding objects. Its mounting position and orientation must be identified, resulting in an extrinsic calibration problem. This paper presents three classes of extrinsic calibration procedures. All use closed-form solutions. The class A calibration procedure requires a reference object at a precalibrated location. The class B calibration proced...
